Award Celebration
The Bernese Award for Environmental Research was granted for the 15th time on 18 March 2026. At the ceremony, laureates Dr. Gabi Sonderegger and Dr. Jonas Schmid were honoured by the University of Bern and the co-sponsors of the award, CSL Behring AG and Energie Wasser Bern.
Gabi Sonderegger introduced her paper titled "Governing agricultural land use in an interconnected world: Opportunities and challenges for Voluntary Sustainability Standards". Jonas Schmid presented his paper titled "De-centralization and Wind Energy Permitting: An Evaluation of Implementation Effectiveness in Switzerland and Europe".
